From £340

Team-Building Tournament

Structured bracket format across four rounds, suited to groups of 30-60 people. Two facilitators keep matches on schedule and record results for a final leaderboard.

Meeting Room Setup

We arrange tables, seating and lighting inside your existing venue for a smaller session. Suitable for departments of 8-15 people wanting a low-key break during the working day.

From £180

Game Library Delivery

A curated box of 15-25 titles delivered to your Liverpool office and collected the next working day. No host included; instructions are printed with each box.

From £95

Dedicated Session Host

One trained facilitator joins your event to explain rules, manage timing and settle disputes over scoring. Booked in half-day or full-day blocks, separate from equipment hire.

From £150

Off-Site Venue Booking

We source and book a suitable room in the Liverpool city centre or nearby districts when your own premises are not large enough for the planned group size.

From £210

Seasonal Office Party Add-On

Game stations added alongside an existing office party or celebration. Works well as one element among catering, music and other planned activities for the day.

From £260

Strategy Game Workshop

A focused two-hour session on a small number of medium-complexity strategy titles, aimed at groups who want fewer games explained in more depth rather than variety.

From £280

Multi-Site Coordination

For companies with more than one Liverpool location, we run matching sessions on the same day and combine results into one shared scoreboard across sites.

From £780

Rules Briefing Sheets

Printed one-page rule summaries for each chosen game, prepared in advance for teams that prefer to run sessions internally without a hired host present.

From £40

Awards and Scoring Package

Includes a scoring template, printed certificates for top three teams and a short results summary sent to your events organiser after the session ends.

From £65

Recurring Monthly Sessions

A booked slot repeated once a month for teams that want a regular break rather than a one-off event. Game selection rotates so sessions do not repeat.

From £290 / month

Planning Consultation

A one-hour call or in-person meeting to discuss group size, venue and preferred games before booking. Typical replies to enquiries are sent within two hours.

What Clients Say About Our Events

Feedback below comes from HR managers and office coordinators across Liverpool who booked board game sessions with Dwellingplantips for their teams.

★★★★★

Booked a session for 34 people at our Baltic Triangle office and the facilitators split us into six tables without any confusion. Games were chosen to match mixed experience levels, which mattered because half our team had never played anything beyond Monopoly.

James Holloway

Baltic Triangle, Liverpool

★★★★☆

Good value for a 20-person afternoon session. The only issue was that one of the strategy games ran longer than the allotted slot, so we had to cut the final round short. Everyone still enjoyed it.

RF

Rebecca Foster

Wavertree, Liverpool

★★★★★

Straightforward booking process. Clear quote, clear timing, no surprises on the invoice.

SM

Sophie Marsh

Aigburth, Liverpool

★★★☆★★

The games themselves went down well and the host kept things moving at a decent pace. My main reservation is that the venue recommendation they gave us had poor acoustics for a group our size (around 45), so instructions had to be repeated a few times. Would book again but with our own venue next time.

DK

David Kearney

Woolton, Liverpool

★★★★★

This was our second booking with them after a smaller pilot session last year worked out well. This time we ran a full department day, around 60 staff across the Wednesday afternoon, split into rotating groups. The organisers adjusted the schedule on the spot when one group finished early, which I hadn't expected them to handle so smoothly. Communication throughout the planning stage was quick, usually a reply within the hour, and nothing needed chasing. We've already asked about a repeat booking for the spring.

About Dwellingplantips

Dwellingplantips was set up in 2022 in Liverpool by a small group of people who noticed that most workplace social events followed the same pattern: a buffet, some background music, and a room full of colleagues standing around without much to do together. We started by bringing a case of board games to one office party on a trial basis. The response was direct enough that we kept getting asked back, and within a year we had turned it into a proper service.

Since then the team has grown to 8 people, and we now offer 13 distinct services connected to game-based events, from small tournament nights to full afternoon programmes for departments spread across several floors. Over four years we have worked with 160 clients across Liverpool and the surrounding area, completing 280 individual bookings. Just over a quarter of our clients — 41 so far — have brought us back for a second event, which tells us the format holds up beyond a first try.

Mission and Approach

Our aim is straightforward: to give companies a structured, low-pressure activity that gets people talking without forcing conversation. We do not run generic "team building" scripts. Instead we match a set of games to the size of the group, the space available, and the amount of time the client has set aside — usually somewhere between ninety minutes and a full afternoon.

We work across 9 districts in and around Liverpool, which means most bookings can be reached within the same working day if a client needs a site visit before confirming details. A typical enquiry gets a reply within 2 hours during business hours, so planning does not stall while waiting on us.

Questions about pricing, equipment, or space requirements are answered directly, without vague promises about outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about organising board game events for companies in Liverpool and the surrounding areas. If your question is not listed here, contact us directly on +44 151 291 3404 or info@dwellingplantips.com.

A typical booking includes a selection of board games matched to your group size and goals, a facilitator who explains rules and manages rounds, all necessary equipment, and a short briefing at the start. For larger groups we also provide table setup and scoring sheets. The exact package depends on whether you want a single-game session or a rotating tournament format across several tables.

We run sessions for groups as small as 8 colleagues up to office-wide events of 150 or more, using parallel tables and multiple facilitators. Since 2022 we have completed 280 bookings across venues of different sizes, from small meeting rooms to full conference halls, so the format scales in both directions without losing structure.

No prior knowledge is required. Our facilitators explain rules at the table before each round starts, using short walkthroughs rather than long lectures. Games are chosen with mixed experience levels in mind, so a colleague who has never played sits comfortably next to someone who plays regularly at home.

We work with office meeting rooms, hired function spaces, hotel conference rooms and pub function rooms across Liverpool and nearby districts such as Wavertree, Allerton and the city centre. We cover 9 areas in total. If a venue has table seating for at least eight people and reasonable lighting, it will usually work for a board game session.

Yes. Most of our bookings take place on-site at the client's office, since it avoids travel time for staff and keeps the event within a normal working day. We bring the games, scoring materials and any signage needed, and we set up and clear away tables afterwards so the room is left as we found it.

Sessions usually run between 90 minutes and three hours, depending on the number of games and rounds. A lunchtime slot works well for a single game with two rounds, while a full afternoon allows for a tournament format with several games and a short award moment at the end.

Our library covers strategy games, quick party-style games, cooperative puzzle games and light trivia formats. We select titles based on group size, available time and whether the aim is quiet team bonding or a livelier competitive mood. Across our 13 services we also offer themed quiz nights and mixed-format afternoons that combine two or three shorter games.

We recommend booking two to three weeks ahead for groups under 30 people, and four to six weeks for larger events that need extra facilitators or a specific venue. That said, we reply to enquiries within about 2 hours, so it is always worth asking even on short notice, since our diary sometimes has room for smaller sessions.

Yes, several of our formats can be adapted to a theme. For a Christmas gathering we can include a seasonal quiz round; for an offsite focused on team building we lean towards cooperative games where groups solve a challenge together rather than compete individually. Let us know the occasion when enquiring and we will suggest a suitable mix.

Yes, a facilitator stays present throughout, explaining rules, keeping time between rounds, answering questions and helping tables that get stuck on a rule. Our team currently has 8 people, and for events with more than four tables we send more than one facilitator so no group is left waiting.

Pricing covers game selection and delivery, facilitator time, table setup, scoring materials and clean-up. Travel within Liverpool is included; bookings outside our usual 9 districts may carry a small travel charge, which we confirm before the booking is finalised. There are no hidden fees added after a quote is agreed.

We do not provide catering ourselves, but our sessions are designed to fit around a lunch break or evening meal, whether arranged through your venue or a separate caterer. We simply need table space that is clear of plates during active play, which we can coordinate with your venue contact in advance.

Board games work well for new or mixed teams because the rules give everyone a shared structure to talk within, rather than relying on open small talk. We often mix seating so people from different departments end up at the same table, which tends to open conversation naturally during play.

Many clients do return for a second event, often after switching departments or moving to a new office. Of the 160 clients we have worked with since 2022, 41 have booked a repeat session, usually choosing a different game selection the second time so the event still feels fresh for staff who attended before.

Our current setup is built for in-person sessions, since board games rely on shared table space and physical pieces. For hybrid teams, we suggest gathering remote staff at the office for the day if possible, as this gives the fullest experience. We do not currently offer a fully remote version of these sessions.

Send us your preferred date, approximate group size and venue location by email at info@dwellingplantips.com or call +44 151 291 3404 during business hours, Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:30. We typically reply within about 2 hours with availability and an outline quote based on the details you provide.

We understand that office schedules shift. Contact us as early as possible by phone or email and we will do our best to move your booking to a new date without penalty, subject to facilitator availability. Cancellations made close to the event date may be affected by prior commitments to other clients, so early notice helps us the most.
